Mieke Jonker, a person from Vaassen, born in 1963 and now living in Gennep NL, started her journey as a goldsmith at Vakschool Schoonhoven from 1999 to 2003.

Her passion for art was ignited when she saw Rembrandt's portrait of Heasje van Cleyburgh in the Rijksmuseum of Amsterdam, which inspired her love for painting.

She enhanced her skills at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arendonk, specializing in portrait and model painting in 2013 and receiving a Specialization degree in 2016.

In her art, Mieke aims to capture the calm beauty of peaceful interiors and the strong bond with dogs, allowing viewers to feel part of the depicted scenes.

Using vibrant colors and strong contrasts, she portrays these moments with a spontaneous and expressive touch.

Mieke believes in a Chinese proverb that says, "A good painting requires the eye, the hand, and the heart," understanding that genuine art comes from keen observation, skillful craftsmanship, and sincere emotions.
